Go Back for Murder

After receiving a letter from beyond the grave, Carla Crale is convinced her mother, who died in prison, was wrongly convicted of her father’s murder. She persuades those who were present at her father’s death 15 years ago to go back to the scene of the crime and recount their version of that day. Their stories are warped by time and their own perceptions but, in the end, reveal the dark and terrible truth. From the pen of Dame Agatha Christie, who adapted this mystery from her own novel Five Little Pigs, the TRP ensemble cast does more than simple justice to this iconic play. TRP has been doing Christie's work for decades, and the director (Lynn Musgrave) has honed a fine edge to the dramatic steel of these murder mysteries with the Go Back for Murder performance. In the double lead role is the TRP veteran Mark Mattison who does his usual best to give us two memorable characters... I just love the way he prepares for and delivers a performance with the challenging roles he takes on. I deliberately processed the prints with an 1940-1960's look to give the production photos the same sense of the time that serves as part of the plot element .
