Shakespeare & Co.
One of the most unusual settings for Shakespearean productions in the Twin Cities is the theater used by the classical repertory ensemble called Shakespeare & Company. Nestled in a small nature preserve area on the west Century College campus in White Bear Lake, Shakespeare & Company has been staging productions there for the past 40 years. What started out as a small platform on the grass has grown into a beautiful Elizabethan-like proscenium stage. The artistic director and current guardian of the project's legacy for more than two decades, professor George Roesler, has been directing plays throughout the Twin Cities for years.
