The Irie Sol Band
I have always loved Reggae music. Since I first heard those sweet chords of "One Love" coming out of Bob Marley's mouth, I've been hooked. When I caught Jimmy Cliff's "Many Rivers to Cross," I was a goner to the genre.
So, when I had a chance recently to donate photos to the One Love Brigade Gala (https://www.onelovebrigade.com/) fundraiser, and found out that the Irie Sol Band (http://www.iriesol.org/) was going to perform, I put everything on hold and rushed to the party.
The Irie Sol Band is comprised of 10 artists literally from all over the world who have come together in Minneapolis to celebrate Reggae and promote its iconic meaning for the Jamaican people. They sound awfully good!..Great rhythm, great strength, great melody, great flow, and (most importantly) great Jamaican soul.
The only way to photograph this crew is to show how the sound feels. There is a rush of color and passion to their music. It moves... I wanted to show that flow in this work.
Catch them whenever you can...you'll have a great time.
