Murder on the Nile

Audiences at the Theater in the Round love Agatha Christie plays. Maybe it's the plots, or the costumes, or even the British accents. Regardless, what attracts many people to the theater is the fact that they seem to offer at least one Christie play a year for their patrons. There's good reason... her plays resonate with intrigue, humor, terrific characters, and a fair amount of Hollywood exposure to complement what audiences are already familiar with.
Murder on the Nile does not disappoint in this production. A wonderful ensemble cast is lead by the seasoned Ryan Maddux. As the anchor character, cleric Canon Pennefather, who is the chief investigator of a murder that has happened on a luxury cruise with a plethora of rich European rare bird's of a feather, Maddux delivers the goods. He has great support from the cast and the direction under Dionne Laviolette-Dabelow is superb. And, for those interested in period costuming, Jenna Rose Graupmann has done a wonderful job setting an elegant visual tone.
